Q: What first attracted you to Opustone and how has it become a key resource for your projects?
A: I first discovered Opustone through a recommendation from another designer, and I’m so glad I did. Before I recommend any vendor to a client, I always like to experience their products and service firsthand. That’s why my very first Opustone slabs were for my own home – I chose a handful of stunning Calacatta Viola slabs for my primary bathroom, and the entire process exceeded my expectations. From the quality and price to the unmatched customer service, I knew right away that Opustone was a resource I could trust.
What truly sets them apart is their vast selection and ability to source the most sought-after slabs. With three South Florida locations, their buying power ensures they always have an incredible inventory, making it easy to find the perfect stone for any project. Now, Opustone is my go-to for high-end, statement-making slabs, and they play a key role in elevating my designs.
Q: How would you describe the quality and variety of stones available at Opustone? How has working with Opustone made your design process easier or more efficient?
A: I’m a huge proponent of natural stone, and what I love about Opustone is that they offer an incredible range—everything from bold, statement-making onyx and marble to soft, understated limestone and everything in between. Their selection is vast, which means I never have to compromise on the vision for a project.
Beyond the quality and variety, their customer service is what truly sets them apart. When I visit the showroom, I’m paired with a dedicated salesperson who walks the floor with me, providing insight into the slabs I’m drawn to. They’re incredibly attentive and always follow up the same day with pricing and images, making the selection process seamless. That level of responsiveness is invaluable, especially when I’m shopping with clients and need quick turnaround times. Opustone makes the entire experience effortless, allowing me to focus on bringing my designs to life.
Q: How would you describe the quality and variety of stones available at Opustone? How has working with Opustone made your design process easier or more efficient?
A: Without a doubt, my favorite slab from the latest stone drop is King Louis XVII. Green has always been my favorite color, with burgundy as a close second, so seeing both combined in a single natural stone was breathtaking. These colors are also complementary, sitting opposite each other on the color wheel, which makes them inherently harmonious and universally appealing. There’s something truly special about how nature creates such perfect pairings.
I envision using these slabs in a small yet impactful powder room, carving out moldings from the slabs and cladding the lower half of the walls with marble wainscotting. The upper walls would be finished in a rich burgundy Roman clay, creating a layered, textural contrast that enhances the depth of the stone. To complete the look, I’d incorporate monopoint lights that wash the walls with a warm, ambient glow, subtly highlighting the depth of color and movement within the stone. It’s a design that feels regal, moody, and timeless all at once—a true showstopper.
Some things just can’t be fully appreciated through a screen—natural stone is one of them. Visit an Opustone showroom and see for yourself why designers like Meredith keep coming back. Who knows? Your next statement piece might be waiting for you.
