In partnership with Anastasia Kaspary, interior designer and founder of Kaspary Interiors, the Opustone team toured the designer’s latest project: a contemporary Fort Lauderdale residence where natural stone was selected not only for its aesthetic appeal, but for its ability to shift the very energy of a space.
When I bring my clients to Opustone, it doesn't feel like a warehouse. It feels like a museum.
Upon entering, we were greeted by a foyer wall in Opustone’s Velvet Onyx V/C Claro.
With the dining room wall immediately beyond it echoing the same material choice, the natural stone glows in a striking backlight. The use of onyx here was precise, deliberate. “Very ancient stones,” Anastasia explained, “are able to balance the energy in the house.” According to Anastasia, this balancing trait of onyx comes from its formation process, as the stone patiently forms over hundreds of millions of years.

Both materials are from the crystal family, which in the spiritual world is associated with abundance, infusing this gathering space with positive energy.
Up a flight of floating stairs we came to the house’s spa, its walls clad in brown and beige Raptor Onyx Light Polished.
Tranquil in its neutrality, onyx is a safeguard against negative energy. As Anastasia explained: “Natural onyx absorbs negative energy, so why not use it in a spa area where you want to stay relaxed?” This room especially illustrates Anastasia’s knowledge of both the physical and abstract properties of stone, utilizing both the onyx’s palette and spiritual significance to reinforce the spa’s restorative purpose.
