There's nothing else out there that stands up to the stone content and variety that they have at Opustone.

In our latest collaboration, Shannon Scott of XS Interior x Architecture takes us on a tour of her most recent residential project, where she emphasized stone-forward design to create a mature, powerful space.

STONE FORWARD DESIGN

As soon as you arrive onto the driveway of this Lago Mar residence, you are met with stunning stone. Inspired by a winter trip to Aspen, Shannon chose Opustone's Marmo Scuro Split Face marble tiles to decorate the front entry columns of the home.

Shannon's primary goal for the residence was to create a masculine identity through stone, texture, and lighting.

A STONE IN TWO LIGHTS

The open kitchen space is decorated by stunning Ravello marble polished slabs, bookmatched on the floor. Paired with dark cabinetry, high ceilings, and architectural light fixtures, a perfect space for large social gatherings.

PLAYING WITH LIGHTING

Shannon also leaned heavily into incorporating lighting to create a new look for this section.

The same Ravello slabs are used throughout the kitchen, dining room, and the bar area. But the shift to darker lighting brings out a colder, more textural appearance to the slabs.

A STUDY OF MODERN ELEGANCE

One of the most design-forward spaces in the house is the master retreat bathroom. The granite leather slabs combine with the gunmetal plumbing fixtures and dark glass on showers to create a strong energy that also carries beauty.
