When world-renowned sculptor Roberto Vivo embarked on his first marble project, he went all in. He journeyed to Carrara, Italy—home to the world’s finest marble and the birthplace of some of history’s most iconic sculptures. Opustone’s stone experts hand selected a flawless Carrara marble slab, gifted it to Vivo, and the transformative journey to create Opus Prime began.
“Some of the world’s most celebrated artworks are made from marble. Once you can touch the marble, it is impossible not to fall in love with this noble material,” said Roberto Vivo.
The Journey to Opus Prime
Stepping out of his comfort zone, this project wasn’t just another sculpture for Vivo, it was a bold step into uncharted territory. Known for his large-scale works in bronze, he took on the challenge of marble with determination and a fresh perspective.
In his Italian workshop, equipped with the right tools and a vision that stretched his creative limits, Vivo brought Opus Prime to life. The result? An abstract, geometric piece bursting with energy and movement.
“The process was intense and challenging,” Vivo shared, “but it’s inspired me to explore even more marble designs in the future.”
